Overview of Need
A UK-based media business is seeking a Non-Executive Director to join the Board at a pivotal stage of its evolution. Following recent Board-level changes, the company is exploring strategic pathways to scale, accelerate growth, and achieve a potential exit within the next 2–4 years. The successful candidate will bring independent judgement, commercial insight, and constructive challenge, supporting the Board in shaping strategy, enhancing decision-making, and preparing for future transaction opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to defining and refining growth strategy and value creation plans.
- Provide independent challenge and perspective to Board discussions and decisions.
- Support evaluation of strategic options, including partnerships, investment, and exit routes.
- Assist with preparation for potential sale, investment, or liquidity events.
- Act as a sounding board to the CEO, offering guidance on leadership and scaling challenges.
Candidate Profile – Essential Experience
- Board-level or senior executive experience.
- Track record of scaling businesses and/or delivering successful exits.
- Experience in media, digital, content, or adjacent sectors preferred.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to challenge constructively.
- Experience operating in high-growth, transformational, or evolving environments.
Remuneration & Appointment
- £40,000 per annum.
- Approx. 2 days per month, with flexibility during periods of increased activity.
- Initial 12-month appointment, with expected extension of 2–3 years aligned to growth and exit timeline.
